About Dr. Michael J. Angel
Professional Statement
Dr. Angel is the pioneer of the “Tommy John” elbow surgery that has prolonged the careers of many professional baseball players. He is also trained in leading arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques to the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He also has a key interest in joint-preservation and reconstructive procedures to the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Dr. Angel also specializes in non-operative and operative management of injuries in youth and adult patients of all athletic skill levels. As a former varsity lacrosse player at Lynbrook High School and SUNY Albany, Dr. Angel understands the demands of today’s athlete.
Dr. Angel has also authored and contributed multiple orthopaedic publications. He is also the former Head Team Physician for the NY Cosmos.
