Dr. Ruotolo's mission to help children goes far beyond her plastic surgery practice. She serves on the board of Child Abuse Prevention Services, Long Island's leading non-profit resource on the prevention of child abuse and neglect. In 2010, she was honored by the organization with the Distinguished Service to Children Award. During the same year, Dr. Ruotolo received the prestigious Healthcare Hero Award from Long Island Business News.
