Dr. Michler is known nationally and internationally as a respected and renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and researcher. He has a key interest and specializes in myriad surgical areas that include, but are not limited to, complex multiprocedural cardiac surgery, mitral/aortic valve repair; congestive heart failure, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, heart transplant and more. A highlight of Dr. Michler's career is that he was one of the first cardiac surgeons to perform minimally invasive and robotic surgery in heart patients. This pioneering work in robotics led to FDA approval of this advanced technology for mitral valve repair and coronary artery bypass surgery.
Dr. Michler doesn't stop there. He has a big vision for the future of CT Surgery. His desire is to develop new surgical approaches that will re-define state-of-the-art care through heart remodeling surgery for valve repair, treatment of atrial fibrillation, minimally invasive & robotic surgery, heart assist devices and heart transplants, stem cell research and myoblast injections.
